The greenhouse has been progressing strongly. In the recent days the greenhouse team has completed preparing the deeper vegetation beds through an enduring soil content filled with large rocks.
A small team of local Ladakhi's came on site to help with the rendering of the back wall of the greenhouse. The four workers did a very impressive job with using a mud mixture to stucco the interior walls. It made for a very unique and beautiful finish that even some of the team was able to take part in, working side by side with the Ladakhis.
Reclaiming wood that was discarded from the construction on the school, we were able to fully construct two working compost bins that will begin operation shortly. Utilizing the lumber for the compost structures is a great way to engage sustainability and illustrate ways of using scarce material to their full advantage. We hope to soon be creating illustrations to help inform and educate the users of the composts in how to manage and operate them properly.

Great progress! Can't imagine working in that rocky soil or reclaiming the wood needed, especially in that altitude and intense sun. Did a wonderful job on the compost bins. Very impressive. Look forward to hearing and seeing more.
